About International Proletarian Rock

Proletarians around the world, unite!

Proletarian Rock came to be on June 23th, 2005, as declared and written by our comrades from Nucleo Terco. For the first time ever, our cultural movement and basis had been defined. In 2006, some informal meetings between representatives of Nucleo Terco, Komintern 43 and M.A.D. took place in order to create an organization that would unite us. The most important task at that point was to create a web and a discussion forum, where all the thoughts and ideas from the different bands could be shared. These plans came to a standstill until mid 2007 when the project was taken up again thanks to the support from all the bands involved in the project; especially our comrades from Mencer Vermello. From then on, the project took a qualitative leap which has shaped the unity of international Proletarian Rock bands.

International Proletarian Rock is the union of bands and comrades with similar ideology whose main objective is an organized and systematic spread of Marxism and its history. Therefore, the web page and newspaper are a reflection of said objective and would not exist without it.

We consider that the bands which define themselves as Proletarian Rock bands must be connected and organized within the International, due to the fact that we share-as all the oppressed masses of the world-the same history and ideology. Critique and self-critique, the Marxists means of advance, will allow us to develop our cultural movement. Furthermore, every member will be a fundamental piece in the development of our work within the International. Therefore, we can state that: “A Proletarian Rock Band cannot exist if it is not a part of the International Proletarian Rock movement.”

The International is composed by groups and comrades from different countries and different tendencies within revolutionary Marxism, being comrade Stalin the point of concurrence that gives us strength. This fact allows us to learn, debate and work for shared objectives within our diversity of thoughts.

The story of Marxism is the story of class struggle. We express our own story in our songs; the story that has been written through grief and struggle. The proletariat continues to write that story, from the Paris Commune till today. The current struggles of Europe, America, Africa and Asia are therefore, our own.

Thus, we officially present Proletarian Rock as a new cultural movement; International Proletarian Rock as its core leader; and the web page and newspaper as its means of expression.
